Law 18, Note 3-last hour of Play It is expected that the following ·experiment will be incorporated in the official Laws:- ln the final stages ·of a match, unless otherwise agreed by both Captains beforehand, the Umpires shall indicate when one hour of playing time, including extra time, remains (according to the agreed hours of play) . From that moment, and providing a result Is not reached earlier, the game will continue for a minimum of 20 6-ball overs. In the event of play being interrupted (including intervals or stoppages for rain, bad light, etc.), the number of overs to be bowled shall be reduced in proportion to the time lost, in the ratio of one over for every three minutes or part thereof lost. If a new innings starts within the last hour of the match, the minimum number of overs to be bowled shall be calculated on t he basis of one for each three minutes, or part of three minutes, remaining for play, when the innings is started. Whenever the minimum number of overs has been bowled before the agreed time for close of play, the match shall continue (in the absence of a result) dn! ·I the agreed time for close of play. fhis rule shall not prevent the Captains reaching agreement to terminate play without claiming extra time or during a period of extra time if a result cannot be achieved. NOTES 1.-lf, for any reason, a bowfer is unable to complete an over during the above period of play, the the remaining balls will be bowled by another bowler. The terms of Law 24, with regard to the bowling of consecutive overs, shall apply to the replace– ment bowler in these circumstances. 2.-Note for Umpires: If the bowler's Umpire has arrived at his position behind the stumps (ref. Law 18 Note 2), before the final hour has commenced, the following over will not count as one of the statutory 20 overs to be bowled.
