Stayed on in this country to play with Appleby-Frodingham for a season . Left to play professional in the Central Lanca – shire League, played many games for the Cavaliers. Toured this country again with the Eaglets in 1963. Stayed on to have county trials at Derbyshire, Northants and Gloucester– shire . Captain of Appleby-Frodingham last season scoring over 800 runs for an average of 40.35. Scored 765 runs before end of July and but for illness which affected his batting from then on, would probably have achieved the magic thousand runs in the League .
