:: l ; JOHN B.ROCKLESBY John Brocklesby of Scunthorpe Town C.C. was ·:the Under-21 Player of the Year in the Lincoln– shire League after a season in which he gained County recognition at Under-23 level. He was Scunthorpe Town's only ever-present playe r~in the club 's recognised first team and his wicket-keeping was a consistent feature of the team's performances. ~ t, John joined S.T.C.C . in 1968, at the age of 16, and w as a regular member of the Scunthorpe and District league and cup winning Under-18 side . In the following season he played with the club's 3rd XI as a wicket-keeper batsman and in 1970 his improvement was noted by the selectors of the Yorkshire Council XI and of the Lincolnshire C.C .C. Colts touring party . Although his batting opportunities have been rather limited his ability in this department marks him as a player of distinct promise .
