Lincolnshire County Cricket League Handbook 1974

M FIXTURE EMERGENCY SERVICE The Lincolnshire Cricket Association has just set up this service to try to help clubs suffering late cancellations or finding themselves with a vacant date for any reason. Clubs should 'phone: Mr. David A. Chambers, Lincoln 24262 Address: 13 Redbourne Drive, Lincoln. This is the procedure:- (1) Clubs requiring a fixture should 'phone David Chambers who will supply the names and 'phone numbers of other clubs requiring a fixture on the date in question. It is then up to the secretaries concerned to get together and arrange a game. (The Service brings clubs together, it does not arrange fixtures for clubs.) (2) (And this is most important.) To save time and trouble for other clubs trying to arrange fixtures on the same l date, clubs are asked to 'phone David when gam:.:: J essfully arranged so that his records can be ended. (3) When 'phoning, clubs are asked to supply the following information: - (a) Name of Club. (b) Name and telephone number of caller. (c) Date or dates that are available. (d) Whether a ground is available. (e) Maximum distance the club is willing to travel for an Away game. (This is important as the Service will work with the Nottinghamshire Service. ) (f) Approximate strength of team. The Service is available to all cricket clubs and is FREE to members of the Lincolnshire Cricket Association. A charge of 15 PENCE per club will be made to non-members when a fixture is successfully arranged. .,
