5. UMPIRES (a) (b) Neutral umpires shall officiate at all matches. Both Club Captains shall submit a report on Umpiers in the space provided on the score sheet. A fine of 10 pence shall be imposed for non-compliance. Payment of Umpires During the interval Clubs shall pay the current League Fees for umpires, to be decided at the A.G.M., plus any expenses incurred. This is to be shared by both Clubs equally. If a match has been cancelled but the Umpires have not been informed of such cancellation and they turn up to officiate at the match, the Umpires shall be paid half the current fee plus expenses incurred. In the event of no play being possible through the weather and the Umpires turn up, they shall also be paid half the current fee plus any expenses incurred. 6. PLAYING RULES (a) M.C.C. Laws of Cricket apply, as recommended by the League Cricket Conference. (b) Conditions of Play Time of starting shall be 2.30p.m. unless otherwise agreed by the teams involved and the umpires notified. Games shall be 100, 90, 80 or 70 six-ball overs duration, to be declared by the Captains before the match. Should a start not be able to be made before Sp.m. through the weather, then 60 overs lllay be plared. Failing agreement between the Captains, the matter shall then be decided by the umpires. Should the team batting first still be at the crease when half the number of overs agreed upon is expired, they shall declare their innings closed and their opponents shall then bat for an equal number of overs. In the event of the team batting first being all out or declaring before the expiration of their allotted overs, the batting time of their opponents shall be increased by the number of complete overs unused by the opposition. Should the team batting second be not all out when time is called, the result shall be a draw. (c) Method of Scoring Points (i) Ten points for an outright win. (ii) In the event of a drawn game, the maximum number of points to be allocated shall be ten. (iii) The team batting first shall be awarded seven points and the team batting second three points if the latter scores seventy-five per cent or more of their opponents ·total. (A good losing draw). (iv) The team batting first shall be awarded nine points and the team batting second one point if they do not score seventy-five per cent of their opponents score. (v) Nil points for defeat. (vi) Five points for each side in the event of a tie. 13
