Lincolnshire County Cricket League Handbook 1977

FIXTURE EMERGENCY SERVICE The Lincolnshire & South Humberside Cricket Association operates this service to try to help clubs suffering late cancellations or finding themselves with a vacant date for any reason. Clubs should telephone; David Chambers Lincoln 24262 13 Redbourne Drive, Lincoln. This is the procedure: 1. Clubs requiring a fixture should telephone David, who will supply the names and telephone numbers of other clubs requiring a fixture on the date in question. It is then up to the secretaries concerned to get together and arrange a game. (The service brings clubs together, it does not arrange fixtures for clubs). 2. Most Important; to save time and trouble for other clubs trying to arrange fixtures on the same date, clubs must telephone David when games are successfully arranged, so that he can amend his records accordingly. 3. When telephoning, clubs are asked to supply the following information: (a) Name of Club (b) Name and telephone number of caller (c) Date or dates that are available (d) Whether a ground is available. ( e) Maximum distance the Club is willing to travel for an away game. (This is most important since the service works with the Nottinghamshire service). (t) Approximate strength of team. The service is available to all Clubs, and is free to members of the L.S.H.C.A. A small charge will be made to non-members when a fixture is successfully arranged. '.)
