6. RULES OF MATCH PLAY 6.1 Conduct of matches Matches shall be conducted in accordance with the latest edition of the Laws of Cricket. The League may decide to alter or dispense with specific sections of the Laws of Cricket, providing that a majority of the league clubs agrees at a meeting before the start of the season. All variations shall be stated in rule 6.9. 6.2 Match start times and duration Premier Division matches shall be of 100 overs duration. These games shall commence at 2.00p.m. except in the first 2 weeks in May and the last 2 weeks in August, where games will start at 1.30p.m.. Premier league games played in September shall commence at 1.00p.m. Matches outside the Premier division the shall be of 90 overs duration. These games shall commence at 2.00p.m. except for games in September which shall commence at 1.30p.m. 6.3 Length of an innings In an uninterrupted match the first team shall not bat more than half the allotted overs. The innings shall then be closed. If the side batting first is dismissed, or the captain declares, before the end of its allocated overs, then the side batting second shall have the remaining number of unused complete overs added to its allotted number. 6.4 Cancelled games No match shall be cancelled due to weather conditions before 10.00 a.m. on the day of the match. Ifthe home team deems it advisable to cancel the fixture, a nominated representative from the home club shall contact a nominated representative of the visiting club and seek his agreement to the game being cancelled. Unless mutual agreement to cancel is obtained, arrangements for the fixture to take place will continue. No ~ncelled fixtures shall be re– arranged. The score.sheet should be sent to the Fixture Secretary stating "No result". 6.5 Start delayed due to bad weather or other valid cause The captains can mutually agree to cancel a fixture if they are both on the ground, but in any cause, no match shall start any later than three hours after the original start time. If the start of play is delayed for less than 30 minutes, then the match shall be played. If the start of play is delayed for 30 minutes or more then overs shall be deducted from the total for the match according to the following table: START TIME DELAY OVERS TO BE PLAYED OVERS TO BE PLAYED (MINS) (PREMIER) (OTHER) 0 - 29 100 90 30- 44 96 86 35 - 59 92 82 60 - 74 88 78 75 - 89 84 74 90 - 104 80 70 105 - 119 76 66 120 - 134 72 62 135 - 149 68 58 150 - 164 64 54 165 - 179 60 (minimum) 50 (minimum) 6.6 Match interrupted by weather Should one or more interruptions occur due to bad weather or bad light totalling less than 30 minutes then the full match shall be played i.e. the original number of overs as from the start of play if the interruptions totals 30 minutes or more, then play shall cease five hours or 5¼ hours in the Premier Division plus one hour or 20 overs, whichever is the longer, after the scheduled time of starting (or at the end of the permitted overs, whichever is the sooner) but the innings of the first batting side shall not exceed half the permitted overs. Aminimum of 20 overs shall be bowled In the last hour of play, subject to: (a) Provided that not more than the max.imum permitted number of overs are bowled in the match.
