6. Rules of match play 6.1. Conduct of matches Matches shall be conducted in accordance with the latest edition of the Laws of cricket. The League may decide to alter or dispense with specific sections of the Laws of Cricket, providing that a majority o1 the league clubs agrees at a meeting before the start of the season. All variations shall be stated in rule 6.9. 6.2. Match start times and duration Premier division matches shall be of 100 overs duration. These games shall commence at 1.00pm. Matches outside the Premier division the shall be of 90 overs duration. These games shall commence at 1.30pm. After August 14 th then Premier Division matches will start at 12.30pm and other division at 1.00pm. 6.3. Length of an innings. In an uninterrupted match the first team shall not bat more than half the allotted overs. The innings shall then be closed. If the side batting first is dismissed, or the captain declares, before the end of its allocated overs, then the side batting second shall have the remaining number of unused complete overs added to its allotted number. 6.4. Cancelled games Games may be cancelled only by mutual consent of the two teams involved. No game shall be cancelled before 10.00am on the day of the match. Following mutual consent, the home team shall advise by phone the league's representative and the local umpire's association of the cancellation. A scoresheet shall be sent to the league's representative stating the game was cancelled and no result has been achieved. If mutual consent has not been reached then the fixture shall continue. Once the Umpires have arrived at the venue, then the game can only be cancelled by the Umpires requesting the teams to reach agreement. If no agreement has been reached then the Umpires shall have the final decision to cancel based upon players' safety. No cancelled game shall be re-arranged. 6.5. Start delayed due to bad weather or other valid cause. The captains can mutually agree to cancel a fixture if they are both on the ground, but in any cause, no match shall start any later than three hours after the original start time. If the start of play is delayed for less than 30 minutes, then the match shall be played.
