North Lindsey Cricket League Rules 1. Name The league will be called officially the North Lindsey Cricket League, The Mick Walker North Lindsey Cricket League for sponsorship reasons, or the NLL for short. The competition is open to all clubs in the North Lincolnshire or South Yorkshire area who meet the standard approved by the management committee. 2. Management Committee A management committee consisting of the league officers and one representative from member clubs shall transact the business of the league. The management committee will meet for an AGM in October and for at least 2 meetings per year when called by the league secretary. A quorum is formed when at least 50% of the league clubs are present along with at least 50% of the league officers. Voting is done by a show of hands with each club and officer having 1 vote each, the chairman having casting vote. Any club failing to send a representative to a meeting without apology will be fined £10. 3. Officers The league officers are the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Fixture Secretary, Treasurer and a representative from Lincolnshire Cricket. The league officers may meet as part of an Emergency Committee, along with a representative from the Scunthorpe Umpire Association, to discuss league business or to put forward proposals to the management committee at any time that may be require 4. Annual General Meeting (AGM) The AGM shall be called before October 31 st each year, with the league secretary giving notice of a least 14 days to all clubs. The business of the meeting will be to elect officials and auditors, to discuss proposals and correspondence brought forward to the league and to vote on any alterations or additions to the league rules. Any proposals, rule changes, correspondence must be forwarded to the league secretary, via his email, at least 14 days before the scheduled date of the meeting. Any Club in Arrears at the times of the meeting commencing will have no voice or vote at the meeting and shall be dealt with as the meeting may determine. Any club that does not attend the meeting without apology will be fined £1 O and will be considered withdrawn from the league, unless subsequent investigation by the emergency committee reveals good reason. If a rule change, official change, or application is received outside of the window of the AGM the league secretary can give notice of an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) with a minimum of 14 days' notice. What is voted on at an EGM will be specific to the reason of the EGM being called and no other business can be discussed. A Quorum is formed as per Rule 2. 5. Membership Any club desiring membership to the league must apply to the league before notice of the league AGM is given by the league secretary so that inspection of the club, ground and facilities can be made if necessary. The emergency committee may deal with late applications, up to the day of fixtures being published, at which point the league format for the following season is official. Clubs desiring membership must allow league officials to inspect its ground or wicket and may be warned if their ground is not up to the standard of the league. All applications must be voted on by the management committee, at an AGM or EGM. 6. Subscriptions The annual subscription will be decided on at the preceding AGM and must be paid before the league commences. Clubs will be fined the sum of £5.00 for non-compliance and may be expelled from the league. At the time of writing the fee for subscription is £40.00 per annum. All fines given for the season must be paid by September 15th. 7. Players The league is an open format with players not requiring to be registered by the league. Players will need to be registered on the play cricket website to complete match reports. A team card is required to be filled out by both clubs prior to the toss and given to the umpire officiating the day, if no umpire is standing in the game, then the team card will be given to the opposing captain. It is the captain's responsibility that all players playing in the game are eligible to play for their club in accordance with the league rules. Playing an ineligible player will result in the game being forfeited. Players can only play for one team per season unless they are loaned to another club as per rule 8. Players under the age of 13 may not Batt, Bowl or keep wicket in line with the ECB rules. Players under the age of 90
