12. Match Balls Match balls do not require to be new but do need to be of good quality. Good quality is decided on by the umpire officiating the game and he can request the bowling side to change their ball if it is not up to standard. 13. Boundary A clear defining boundary must be made around the ground by a line with marker or a rope. 14. Match reports The result of the match must be posted on the play cricket website by 23:59 of the day of the game by the home team. The minimum information at this time must be the runs scored, overs bowled, and wickets taken of both teams. The full scorecard, including the names and scores of all batsmen and bowlers, must be posted on play cricket within 48 hours of the game finishing. This is to allow the checking of players and posting of scores to media outlets. Both teams need to confirm the result on play cricket. Complaints Complaints must be made to the league secretary within 7 days of event taking place. The secretary shall notify the alleged offending club of the complaint and in the event of the explanation not being satisfactory, the management committee. 17. Umpires Umpires will be appointed by the Scunthorpe & District umpires association via the Who is the Umpire website. Umpire expenses shall be shared evenly between both clubs & must be paid by the tea interval. Umpires will be paid half expenses if no play is possible, and all parties have arrived. Umpires' expenses will be notified to all clubs at the AGM. Umpires shall oversee the coin toss prior to the match. 18. Teas No teas will be offered for all NLL games by default. A club can offer an away side a tea if they make them aware before the day of the game. Clubs who wish to offer teas for the season must make the league aware before the league handbooks have been written. This date will be given to members at the AGM. The time of tea breaks will be decided by the umpire, if no umpire is present a break of 1O minutes between innings will take place. 19. Extra Rules The Emergency Committee shall have the power to deal with any matter which may arise affecting the league which is not provided in the above rules and their decision will be final. 20. Cup Rules Cup games will be played to the same rules as league matches except for 1. Games can be played on an evening if both captains agree, if the game is played on an evening the match will be a maximum of 20 overs per side. 2. If a game is abandoned and 50% of the innings of the team batting second is complete the game is considered complete. The team with the better run at the end of the last completed over will be declared the winner. 3. If 50% of the innings of the team batting second was not complete, then a bowl off will be used to declare the winner. 4. In the event of a tied game the team with least wickets lost shall be declared the winner. 5. The final must be played on neutral ground with umpires and balls provided for by the NLL. If the game is abandoned and 50% of the innings of the team batting second is complete, then the team with the better run rate at the end of the last completed over will be declared the winner. In any other event of an abandoned game the match will be rearranged and played again. 6. Group winners will be decided by points, number of wins, total runs and then wickets taken. 7. Loan players will not be allowed to play in cup games. To play in a Semi Final or Final players must have played at least 1 league and 1 cup game for the club. If a club has 2 sides in the cup, players will be only allowed to play for one of those sides. 92
