144 BACUP Bacup, fromAugust 4th 1922 to August 11th 1923 did not lose a match and in 1923 became the first Club to win the League Championship and the Worsley Cup in the same season. The Club repeated this performance in 1930. Bacup can claim the distinction of playing a season without suffering a defeat, each in a Championship year, in 1924. On 27thAugust 1949 EvertonWeekes (pro) scored 195 not out against Enfield to exceed the previous record set by Learie Constantine in 1937. Bacup dismissed Enfield in a League match at Enfield onApril 23rd 1927 for 9 runs. Bacup established a Club record by winning the Senior & Junior League Championships in the same season in 1960.
