Second was a player who has ninety three 5 wicket hauls in Lancashire League cricket and is closing in on 1300 career wickets, with 60 wickets, David Ormerod ofAccrington But in top place this year was a bowler who took 5 wickets on 10 occasions during the season with a best of 7 for 20.Unfortunately he but couldn't quite achieve a third successive season with 100 wickets or more. In wicket keeping, third place went to Sam Tucker of Church who decided to play one more season before taking up a new job abroad. Sam had 32 victims, 25 catches 7 stumpings. But in top place this year we had a tie and each received an award. Both had 39 victims Chris Burton of Burnley had 23 catches and 16 stumpings and Tom Parton of Ramsbottomhad 24 catches and 15 stumpings. The younger players are the future of the League and in recognition the League make awards to the batsman and bowler under 23 with the most runs and wickets during the season. The winner of the U23 batting award for 2012 with 624 runs a top score of 80, 7 half centuries was JonnyWhitehead of Lowerhouse. The U23 bowling award this year went a player who finished third in the senior awards with 53 wickets, four 5 wicket hauls and an average of 14.52, Ali Sartaj of Rishton.
