4 finally adopted overs cricket in 1975. Eight ball overs introduced 1939 also gave way to six ball overs in 1985. The League’s constitution and administration is set out in Rule 2. The Executive powers are vested in the League Committee which comprises the President, the Officers of the League and one representative of each club. The current members of the League Committee are shown on Pages 5. This Committee currently meets at The Higher Trapp Hotel, Simonstone, Burnley on the last Wednesday of each month January to November, the February Meeting being theAnnual Meeting of the League per Rule 4. The major annual dates in the League’s administration are set out below: 31st January : Clubs to notify the League of their officers. 31st March : Clubs to notify their list of amateur players with all addresses and dates of birth if under 23 years of age. Additions to a club’s list are accepted from players having the appropriate registration qualification – however, those registered after 31st July are not eligible for the 1st XI until the start of the next Season. April : League subscriptions are due on or before theApril LeagueMeeting. 21st July : Subject to Rule 35, clubs may approach other clubs’ professionals for engagement in the following Season. September Meeting : clubs to notify Secretary their Seasonal Awards. All clubs to give their averages for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Eleven by the end of September. October Meeting : clubs to notify Secretary of particulars of playing records for previous season. 15thOctober : Last date for proposals for newor amended Rules. 1st November : Last date for nomination of League Officers. 15th November : Date by which Hon. Secretary must circulate any proposals received for newor amended Rules. 30th November : Date by which Hon. Secretary must circulate the nominations for League Officials.
