RAMSBOTTOM- PieterMalan (SouthAfrica) Ramsbottom have re-signed South African Pieter Malan as professional for the 2013 season. Malan is an opening batsman who plays for Northerns and Titans in SouthAfrica, having played 67 first class matches to date with a career average of 39.58 and an impressive ListAaverage of 48.62. Malan was the Lancashire League's leading run scorer in 2012 , topping the averages with 947 runs at 63.1, including three centuries and six half centuries in. The South African also smashed 285 runs in the 20/20 competition, including a record unbeaten 165 against Rawtenstall that helped Ramsbottom pick up the 20/20 cup for a third successive season. Playing in the Northern League in 2011, Malan became the first Barrow player to reach 1,000 runs since they joined the league in 2004. He made 1,051 league runs at an average of 65.69, including five centuries. RAWTENSTALL - Brett Jonathan Pelser - (NorthWest andLions, SouthAfrica) Rawtenstall are delighted to have signed this 27 year-old all rounder, who comes to the Lancashire League following three highly successful seasons for Northern Premier League side Leyland, hitting nearly 3000 runs and taking 160 wickets. Since his first-class debut in 2007, Brett has become captain of his SouthAfrican side, playing 60 sixty matches, scoring over 3500 runs at almost 50 and taking over 60 wickets.With his considerable experience in all aspects of League cricket and his readiness to be involved both on and off the field, it is expected that Brett will make a big impact in helping the club revive its cricket prospects at all levels. RISHTON - Daniel Salpietro - (Victoria, Australia) Daniel is 25 years old, a right hand batsman and right arm off-break bowler. He is also renowned as an excellent fieldsman and plays from Prahran in Melbourne’s Club Cricket. He came through the ranks of Victoria’s under 19 and 23 sides. Daniel makes a welcome return to Rishton for his second spell in the League
