145 INTERESTING FACTS ON EACH CLUB ACCRINGTON Accrington when winning the Championship in 1915 created two records. Scoring the then highest number of points in any one season, 44 and by going through the season undefeated, their undefeated record actually extended from, July 4th 1914 to June 14th 1916. Accringtonwon the Championship in three successive seasons 1914-15-16. Alan Worsick (83 wkts) & Eddie Robinson (75 wkts) took 158 wickets between them in 1970, a league record as no 2 amateurs have ever taken so manywickets in a season. Accrington, Bacup and East Lancs, are the only Clubs which can claim the distinction of playing a season without suffering a defeat, each in their Championship year, Accrington in 1915, Bacup in 1924 and East Lancs, in 1947, 1951 and 1973. Accrington won the Senior Championship in 1975 with each member of the team, including the professional, Alan Worsick, having a birth qualification for the Club. Graham Beech set a new amateur batting record in 1981 scoring 938 runs, beating his own previous record of 677 from 1977. Bill Rawstron set a new club wicket keeping record in 1989with 43 victims (19 ct 24 st). On 18th July 1999 Mark Bailey and Mahsooq Ahmed broke the record for anywicket with a 3rdwicket partnership of 221 at Rishton. Accrington's defeat at home to Ramsbottomon 11th September 2005was the club's 24th of the season equalling the record of Colne (1991) and Rishton (2003).Accrington set a new league record for most defeats when they lost their 16th successivematch at Enfield on 23rd July. In 2006, Nishit Shetty made the 2nd & 3rd highest ever scores by an Accrington professional with 155 against Colne on 23rd April and 173 against Rawtenstall on 6thMay. DavidOrmerod took his 1000thwicket at Todmorden on 12th July 2008. On 1st May 2011 Accrington made a League record score of 386-6 v Rawtenstall at The Worswick Memorial Ground including a league record 5th wicket stand of 247 betweenAshar Zaidi andGrahamLloyd.
