In second place was a Club all time record holder, Vinny Hanson of Rawtenstall, with a career 339 catches and 195 stumpings, 534 victims in league matches with another 29 in cup games. In 2014 he had 40 victims 25 catches and 15 stumpings, his retirement will mean the loss of one of the onfield characters of the League. In top place, a keeper I mentioned earlier, someone who beat his own record of 42 victims from 2013, with 47 catches and 7 stumpings, a total of 54, Joe Martin of Lowerhouse. The younger players are the future of the League and in recognition the League make awards to the batsman and bowler under 23 with the most runs and wickets during the season. The winner of the U23 batting award for 2014 with 744 runs a top score of 102 against Lowerhouse in the first match of the season – LeviWolfenden of Church The U23 bowling award this year with is a player who finished 3rd in the senior awards with 50 wickets, a best of 5 for 37 against Rishton on 26thApril – Hassan Fazal of Enfield. Further awards are made to the U23 player who in the opinion of the League Executive has had the best performances. TheApril/May awardwas made to LeviWolfenden of Church. The June/July awardwas made toTylerMcGladdery of Nelson. InAugust/September MattWalker of Lowerhouse took the award.
