NELSON KeshavMaharaj (SouthAfrica) - Keshav Maharaj (24) is currently on Cricket SouthAfrica's radar having recently been included in several spin bowling,Academy and 'A' camps. The left-arm spin bowling all-rounder has starred on the domestic circuit in recent times, particularly during a prolific 6-week period last summer (20/12/12 – 09/02/13) where he dominated with bat and ball for both KwaZulu-Natal and his Dolphins Franchise. He struck his maiden first-class century (103) against South West Districts then followed up with a second hundred (114*) and figures of 5-12 against Northerns. Maharaj then celebrated his return to the Dolphins with match figures of 8-65, including a career-best 5-11 against the Titans. The all-rounder chalked up impressive numbers during the 2012/13 season including 481 runs at 48.10 and 29 wickets at 16.34 in both the CSA Provincial Three-Day Competition and Sunfoil Series for the Dolphins. It was somewhat of a breakthrough season for Maharaj, particularly with the bat. He had previously excelled with the ball during the 2009/10 (34 wickets at 27.67) and 2011/12 (40wickets at 23.57). RAMSBOTTOM Daryn Smit (SouthAfrica) - It was no surprise that Ramsbottom have re-signed South African Daryn Smit as their professional for 2015 after a hugely successful 2014. Daryn took 88 wickets at just 7.2, including eleven five wicket hauls. His figures of 7-10 against Bacup and 7-29 against Todmorden both atAcre Bottomwere the best of the season when he returned home on August 18th to prepare for the Champions League. Daryn also scored 790 runs at 60.8 with six half centuries in taking Ramsbottom to second place in the table at the point of his departure. He was the leading run scorer in the 20/20 with 282 runs, including 128 at Edenfield which was the highest score of the season, and his figures of 5-15 against Haslingden were also the season's best in the competition. In all matches Smit scored 1073 runs at 67.1 with seven half centuries and one century and he also took 103wickets at 7.0. RAWTENSTALL Brett Jonathan Pelser - - (NorthWest andLions, SouthAfrica) Brett returns for a third stint at Bacup Road where there is high expectation that he will help to maintain the club's improvement over the past two seasons.
