149 ENFIELD Clyde Walcott (pro) in 1953 had a batting average of 101.54, a record at the time which was surpassed by Everton Weekes in 1954 with an average of 158.25. Dik Abed at Bacup on 5th June 1971 took 4 wickets in 4 balls and had an analysis of 6 wickets for 0 runs. Frank Martindale was the league leading wicket keeper in three successive seasons, 1975 to 1977. On 12th May 1984 KeithWindle 109 not out & Bill Green 123 not out shared a 3rd wicket stand of 234 against Accrington 2nd team. Chris Greenwood took 9 for 26 against Ramsbottom 2nd on 2nd September 1984. In 1994 Gary Barker set a new amateur batting record of 947 runs. Martin van Jaarsveld the Enfield professional made 161 not out v Rawtenstall on 15th July 2001, the second highest score by an Enfield player in a league match, only 5 runs short of the 166 scored by Des Fothergill in September 1949. Andrew Higgins scored 100 not out against Bacup 2nd on 24th June 2000 after coming in to bat at number 8 when the score was 107-6, helping to take the score to 221-7. Stefan Jones (sub pro), on 20th June 2009 took 9 for 48 against Accrington. The other wicket was a run out, taken whilst he was bowling. Andrew Barker retired at the end of the 2009 season having scored over 10000 runs. On 24th April 2012 Adam Bracewell made a Club record individual highest score of 151 not out against Bacup, a record which had stood since 1915. Adam Bracewell took a club record total of 31 catches in 2014. HASLINGDEN On June 8th 1985, Haslingden in their game against Church, after losing their first two wickets for 12 runs, scored 280 for 2, a new record score for limited overs cricket in 46-six ball overs. (The previous record of 278 by Colne in 1983 was from 34-8 ball overs.) In 1990 Nelson broke this record by scoring 288 for 5 v Rishton (at Rishton, 4th August). In the game v Church 2nd XI in a Junior cup match on 3rd May 1991 Haslingden established a league record highest score of 344 in the 2nd eleven competition. Charles Lord scored 195 a league and club record at that time. In one weekend in September 1991, Haslingden twice broke the League’s Innings Record in “overs” cricket. On Saturday, 7 September, they scored 298 v Nelson and on the next day vs Rawtenstall, they scored 302 with substitute professional P.V. Simmons (West Indies) scoring 178 and 135.
