18 In second place with exactly 1000 runs a top score of 98 and 11 half centuries was David Brown of Burnley. But the winner this year with 1138 runs, a new club batting record, overhauling Jonathan Harvey’s 1995 record, 3 centuries, a top score of 135 no and 6 half centuries and with an average of 47.41 was Vishal Tripathi of Burnley. The Senior Bowling award is made to the amateur bowler who takes most wickets in league matches during the season. In Third place we had two bowlers with 55 wickets each, Simon Read of Ramsbottom and Matthew Walker of Lowerhouse. Second was a newcomer to the League who joined Todmorden from Walsden because he couldn’t get a regular place in their first team, with 62 wickets Martin Harlow. But in top place this year we again have a true Lancashire Legend. During the season he completed a record of having taken 5 wickets both at home and away against every club and he has even taken 5 against his own club. 67 wickets at an average of 12.10 with 5 wickets on 5 occasions, best performance of 7 for 23 the winner was Keith Roscoe of Rawtenstall. Next we come to wicket keeping. In 3rd place was Chris Burton of Burnley with 32 victims, 23 catches 9 stumpings. In second place was last year’s winner with 33 victims 27 caught and 6 stumped, Joe Martin of Lowerhouse. In top place, a keeper who took his 500th Lancashire League victim during the season. He had 36 catches and 8 stumpings, 44 in total Sam Tucker of Church. The younger players are the future of the League and in recognition the League make awards to the batsman and bowler under 23 with the most runs and wickets during the season. The winner of the U23 batting award for 2015 is shared. Both batsmen scored 611 runs and the recipients were both from Lowerhouse, Jonny Whitehead and Matthew Walker. The U23 bowling award this year went to a player who achieved the mini double of 50 wickets and 500 runs. He took 55 wickets at 15.72 and a best of 5 for 37 Matthew Walker of Lowerhouse. Further awards are made to the U23 player who in the opinion of the League Executive had the best performances. The April/May award was made to Jehangir Liaqat of Burnley.
