48 ii) Calculate 75% of the runs per over rate in i) above. iii) Multiply the reduced run rate at ii) by the number of overs lost in the second innings. iv) Calculate the reduced target to be achieved by the Team batting second by deducting the figure arrived in iii) from the first innings total. The overs will still be reduced during an early tea break. In dealing with this calculation run rates should be calculated to the second decimal place and the amended target score will always be rounded up to the next whole number. When the 1st innings score is rounded up to the next whole number, the side batting 2nd must achieve the new target score to achieve victory. Failure to do so will result in a win for the team batting first (i.e. a tie is not possible when the score has been rounded up). SEE EXAMPLES BELOW First Number Inns ÷ of =? x 75% =? x lost =? Take from Total overs total 200 ÷ 50 = 4 x 75% = 3 x20 = 60 from 200 = 141 152 ÷ 42 = 3.6 x 75% = 2.7 x8 = 21.7 from 152 = 131 190 ÷ 50 = 3.8 x 75% = 2.85 x12 = 34.2 from 190 = 156 140 ÷ 50 = 2.8 x 75% = 2.1 x15 = 31.5 from 140 = 109 110 ÷ 50 = 2.2 x 75% = 1.65 x10 = 16.5 from 110 = 94 160 ÷ 45 = 3.55 x 75% = 2.66 x5 = 13.3 from 160 = 147 If after the commencement of the second innings further time/overs is/are lost then the target score must be recalculated. 3.5. Any over not completed either through injury to the bowler or any other reason shall be completed by another bowler. 3.6. The interval between innings shall be 25 minutes. This will be reduced to 10 minutes in any match affected by ground or weather conditions provided that the two Captains agree to take tea during stoppage in play during the first innings of the match and so inform the umpires before taking tea. In these circumstances the Teams will not retake the field until the expiration of the said 10 minutes, even if the Umpires in the meantime deem conditions fit for play to resume. 3.7.
