Add to this his 854 Worsley Cup runs and 16 wickets the Club has signed a proven performer with over 10000 runs and nearly 400 wickets. RISHTON - Shaun Von Berg (South Africa) Shaun Von Berg returns to Rishton for the 2017 Lancashire League season on the back of a highly successful 2016 season in which he scored 955 runs and took 75 wickets. Back in South Africa, Shaun has had a very successful season for the Titans Franchise which has seen him score 370 runs at an average of 46.25 and his leg spin yield 39 wickets at 22.79 which includes two 10 wicket hauls. The club are delighted to have secured Shaun’s services not only for 2017 but for the 2018 season as well. It is hoped that Shaun can help the club develop the many youngsters at the club into better senior cricketers with the aim of some of them making telling contributions at First team level. Shaun is one of the clubs most popular professionals in recent times and we are looking forward to his return for the 2017 season immensely. TODMORDEN - Kelly Smutts (South Africa) Kelly is a 27 year old South African who applies his trade back home for The Warriors and Eastern Province. Kelly is a genuine all rounder who bats aggressively left handed and bowls medium pace right arm seamers. Kelly is well known to the Lancashire League & the local area from his recent exploits in the Northern League and most recently with Rishton CC in 2015 where he scored over 1,000 runs and took over 50 wickets. Kelly is a very committed professional and takes his role as a professional very seriously and we are confident that he will be a big success at our club both on and off the field.
