On 1st May 1982 at Thorneyholme Road, Paul Riding (41no) & John Beaumont (37no) shared a last wicket stand of 76. In 1982 Rawtenstall won the Senior Championship for the sixth time, their other successes being in 1981, 1976, 1926, 1904 and 1894 and in 1922 they tied with Bacup. Matthew Mott made the highest score by a professional (161 not out) for Rawtenstall against Lowerhouse in 2001. Rawtenstall scored a league record limited overs total of 347-7 at home to Nelson on 7th September 2003. During the 2015 season Keith Roscoe completed a record of having taken 5 wickets both at home and away against every club including Rawtenstall whilst playing for Bacup. RISHTON Batting first against Enfield on July 2nd 1949 Rishton scored 283 runs in 133 minutes. In winning the Junior League Championship in 1953, Rishton 2nd XI never lost a match and were never totally dismissed throughout the season. Rishton in 1955 won the Senior Championship and the Worsley Cup performing the “Double” for the first time in the Club’s history.
