60 period even if the umpires in the meantime deem conditions fit for play to resume. (c) If a start is delayed by weather conditions, one over shall be deducted from each side for every seven minutes lost during the first innings. (d) In a game which starts on time but is interrupted by weather or injury to or ill health of any player, umpire or scorer one over shall be deducted from each side for every seven minutes lost time during the first innings. (e) In the second innings if weather or injury to or ill health of any player, umpire or scorer interrupts play one over shall be deducted for every three & half minutes lost time during that innings PROVIDED THAT no such deduction shall be made until any such time saved in the first innings has elapsed n.b. time will be saved whenever the first innings ends before 3:55 pm (3:25 pm in September). N.B. No over shall be deducted for time lost for any reasons other than bad weather or injury to or ill health of any player, umpire or scorer. The second innings will be deemed to have commenced upon completion of the interval between innings. (f) Providing time allows the side batting last has an entitlement to receive 20 or more overs (it being acknowledged that the team may not need to receive 20 overs to achieve the target total) the match shall be decided on the overall run rates of each side. The run rate of a side shall be calculated by dividing the runs scored by the number of overs the side is entitled to receive. In the event of a side being completely dismissed within the overs allocated, its run rate will also be determined by deeming that all those overs have been received and this run rate multiplied by the overs which the team batting last is entitled to receive shall be the target total. If the scores are equal on completion of the match the result is a tie. N.B. In the event of a side being completely dismissed within their entitlement of overs for a total less than that of their opponents that side will be deemed to have lost as in this case their run rate per over is irrelevant. In the case of games where the overs allocated in the second innings are reduced because of interruptions by weather, the reduced target total of runs needed shall be displayed on the scoreboard when play is resumed. In any such game where the side batting second reaches the target displayed on the scoreboard, the match will be completed without the need to bowl any remaining overs. (g) In the event of the start of the second innings being delayed or if time is lost during the second innings, with the result that the side batting last becomes entitled to receive less than 20 overs, either Captain shall have the right to continue with the match on the basis that (a) their opponents’ total can be passed within the overs to be received or (b) their opponents can be totally dismissed within the
