96 Fosters Lancashire Cricket League LEAGUE PROFESSIONALS 2017 ACCRINGTON - Michael Erlank (South Africa) Michael is a left hand opening batsman and right arm off break bowler, he currently plays with the Knights Franchise and Freestate in his native South Africa. The Knights have won the 2016/17 domestic 4day competition of which Michael opened the batting in all but one match and bowled in most matches only missing out with injury in the last game of the series. The He recently achieved his top First Class score for Freestate of 172. To date Michael has scored over 4000 first class runs and taken over 80 wickets. This will be his second season in England after a four year absence while he completed his studies. BACUP - Ernest Kemm (South Africa) Bacup has secured the services of South African Ernest Kemm for season 2017. Ernie is an opening batsman and left arm orthodox spinner who is captain of his state team Easterns. He has already acquired lots of league experience, having played for Havant CC as a 16 year old, when he also turned out for Sussex 2nd XL. The 25 year old has since played for Bready CC in Ireland and has for the last two years acted as professional for Middleton CC where he consistently turned in good all round performances. In 2015 he scored 839 runs and took 75 wickets. Ernie comes very highly regarded both as a cricketer and a person. He will offer much needed variety to the Bacup attack and sound leadership for a developing team. BURNLEY - Chris Holt Burnley have reappointed Chris as their professional for a fourth consequetive season. A left hand bat and slow left arm bowler, he has made 2051 runs and has taken 195 wickets for Burnley in League matches and has been an integral part in the Club’s run of four consequetive Worsley Cup wins. CHURCH - Zain Abbas (Pakistan) 2017 will see Zain Abbas return for a second season at Church. The 25 year old left handed opening batsman/right arm bowler was a popular figure at Church helping the side to win the T20 Cup Competition for the second time in three seasons. Zain has considerable experience in league cricket in England having previously broken the batting record at Little Lever. In Pakistan Zain plays First Class cricket for Sui Southern Gas. He was also selected to play for Pakistan A in their recent tour of Zimbabwe during which he scored two centuries for the touring side.
