97 COLNE - Unmukt Chand (India) Unmukt is a top class opening batsman and also bowls off spin. He captained India Under 19s to World Cup Success in 2012, slamming an unbeaten century to guide his side to victory over Australia in the final. In 2015 he was appointed captain of the India A side for the series against Australia and Bangladesh. CLITHEROE - Fawad Alam (Pakistan) Clitheroe Cricket Club welcome FawadAlam to Chatburn Road, as Professional for the 2017 Lancashire League season. Fawad is a left-hand batsmen whose first-class average of 56.51 ranks him in the top 20 of all time. As a Pakistan international, he averages over 40 in both long and short forms of the game. In his international career Fawad has scored ODI 50’s against England, South Africa, and Australia, as well as ODI and Test Match 100’s versus Sri Lanka. He also bowls handy left arm spin (with a T20 international best of 3 for 7) and is an excellent fielder. DARWEN - Calvin Savage (South Africa) The 24 year old is one of the most promising cricketers coming through the ranks in South African first class cricket. He is currently part of the Dolphins Franchise. Calvin graduated from the excellent cricketing school Maritzburg College in the KwaZulu Natal midlands which brought the likes of Kevin Pietersen through their ranks. He was a major player of the South African under 19 side. His fast-medium right arm bowling is his stronger suit but his batting has enormous potential..A player with a big future Calvin has had two seasons in the UK. His first season was with Furness CC where he had an excellent season helping the club become league winners for the third season running. Last season he played for Hartley country club in the very strong Kent premier league where once again his side romped away with the premier league title. EAST LANCASHIRE - Andries Gous (South Africa) East Lancashire has re-signed Andries Gous as professional for the 2017 season. The 23 year old, right handed, wicket-keeper batsman returns for a second season after his first season at the club in 2016. In 2016 Andries scored 427 league runs at an average of 28.46 and took 20 victims behind the stumps. His highest score of the season was 141* in the Worsley Cup, part of a Worsley Cup record 8th wicket partnership of 175. In South Africa Andries represents Free State having made his first class debut for them in 2012 aged just 19. Since then he has represented Free State in all three formats of the game and over the winter made his franchise debut for Knights in the Twenty20. At the time of writing he has a first class average of 36.40 with a high score of 107 including 11 half-centuries and two centuries. In the shorter 20 over form he has a high score of 78* and an impressive strike
