EAST LANCASHIRE - Eddie Read East Lancs are delighted to announce the signing of English all-rounder Edward Read as Professional for the 2018 season. Eddie started his senior career with Ingleton CC in 2005. He spent 2 season in the Westmorland League before joining the Ribblesdale League with Settle in 2007. Read then spent 8 seasons with Yorkshire Dales outfit playing 213 times, taking 320 wickets and scoring over 2000 runs, with a highest score of 142. In 2015 Eddie joined Northern League Club Morecambe. In his 3 seasons he has taken 183 wickets with a best of 7 for 60 while scoring 893 runs. Eddie was a vital member of the Championship winning team in 2015 with 74 victims in his debut season with the club. As well as an impressive League career Eddie has also represented minor counties team Cumberland. The committee and players would like to welcome Eddie to the club and wish him every success in his debut season in the Lancashire League. ENFIELD - Pallegedara Gammahelage Chandima Shashrika Peiris Pussegolla (Sri Lanka) Having successfully spent the last two seasons as the paid man at Barnoldswick, Shash becomes Enfield’s second Sri Lankan Professional. The 30 year old hails from Columbo and is a genuine all-rounder. A right a hand bat who bowls both off break and medium fast, Shash has scored over 2,300 first class runs with a best of 125 and taken over 60 first class wickets with a best of 5/102. With the deal being done at the end of season 2017 Shash is already familiar with DHL and will be looking to help Enfield add to last years Division 2 championship trophy. GREAT HARWOOD - Ashen Silva (Sri Lanka) Ash returns for a third season at Great Harwood in 2018. A top class left handed opening batsman and off break bowler, in our debut Lancashire League season last year he scored 924 runs at 48.68 and took 44 wickets, following on from 1035 and 38 in the Ribblesdale League in 2016. Ash returns having won the domestic championship in Sri Lanka with his Chilaw Marians side, who went all season unbeaten. HASLINGDEN - Sachith Pathirana (Sri Lanka) Sachith is a spin bowling all-rounder who currently represents Sri Lanka in the ODI and T20 formats of the game. He plays for Colombo Cricket Club and made his International ODI debut against Pakistan in July 2015 and his T20 debut came against Australia in September 2016. He has played over 170 First Class / List A matches scoring in excess of 5500
