LITTLEBOROUGH - Thomas Kaber (South Africa) Littleborough are delighted to announce that South African all-rounder Thomas Kaber will be joining us as their professional for the 2018 season which will be their first in the Lancashire League. South African Thomas Kaber (born 14 June 1992) is currently the captain of Northerns. His left-arm Chinamen led to him to be the leading wicket-taker in the 2016–17 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge, with a total of twenty-one dismissals in ten matches. In August 2017, he was named in Cape Town Knight Riders‘ squad for the first season of the T20 Global League. Thomas was the professional at Colne in the 2015 and Littleborough hope that this League experience will be invaluable for their debut season. LOWERHOUSE - Ockert Erasmus (South Africa) The Lowerhouse professional for 2018 is South African, Ockert Erasmus. Ockert who is a genuine all rounder batting right handed and bowling off spin will spend a second season at Lowerhouse after a very successful debut campaign in 2017. In 2017 Ockert scored 985 runs at 57.94 with 10 half centuries and a seasons best of 104*. With the ball he captured 35 wickets at 19.85. Ockert also starred in the clubs run the Lancashire Knockout Final with important innings in games against Great Harwood, Rochdale, Clitheroe and Burnley. Ever consistent during his time in the league, with the bat Ockert has now amassed 5620 Lancashire League runs at 45’s with a best of 112* whilst his economical off spin has captured 407 wickets at 17.1 with a best of 8-21. MIDDLETON - Chris Williams Middleton have re-signed English all-rounder Chris Williams as professional for the 2018 season. Chris had a brilliant first season at Towncroft in the Pennine Cricket League where he scored 862 runs at an average of 43.10 which included a high score of 132. Equally, Chris demonstrated his fantastic skill with the ball, claiming 45 wickets with an economy rate of 3.14. Chris’s all-rounder ability helped Middleton earn their first trophy since 2012 and he is now determined to see the club become successful in the very competitive Lancashire League.
