35 member is defined as one who has been registered as an amateur player for the said Club for a minimum period of three years immediately before accepting an engagement as coach. 5. (31) AMATEUR AS COUNTY CONTRACTED PLAYER OR APPRENTICE CONTRACTED PLAYER - QUALIFICATION 5.1 Any player registered as an amateur with a Club within the League signing a Professional Agreement form for a County Cricket Club shall none the less retain his amateur status and be eligible to play for that Club providing always that he otherwise remains qualified to play within the League and has paid his Club subscription for the current season before playing for the Club. 5.2 No player falling within this category will be eligible to play for the relevant Club in any League game after the 31st July unless that player has previously played a senior match for the relevant Club in that season and prior to that date nor will he be eligible to play in Round 2 and subsequent rounds of any Cup competition organised by the League unless that player has previously played a senior League or Cup match for the relevant Club in that season. 6. (26) AMATEUR BECOMING PROFESSIONAL 6.1. Any player registered as an amateur with a Club within the League who is engaged as or agrees to and/or plays as a Professional in any League shall immediately lose his qualification as an amateur but any player having signed a Professionals Agreement form in respect of a future season (other than a contract with a County as specified in Rule D5) shall be considered to have lost his amateur qualification from the beginning of the League Season in which he has agreed to commence his professional duties. 7. (29) PROFESSIONAL BECOMING AMATEUR 7.1. Should any Lancashire League Professional retire during or at the end of a season, he shall not be eligible to play as an amateur until the expiration of the following season. On commencing to play as an amateur, he must be possessed of the birth, residential or business qualification required by Rule D1.1, and must not play during his qualifying period in any matches outside the League, without the consent of the League Committee. Any Professional intending to qualify as an amateur must inform the League Secretary by letter not later than January 31st following his last Professional season. This rule shall not apply to an amateur of a League Club possessing a birth qualification situated anywhere within the League area; such a player will only lose his amateur status during the season or seasons he is engaged as Professional and may return at once to the Club he last played for as an amateur but to that Club only. If that Club cannot avail themselves of his services, the player may apply to the League Committee for transfer to another Club for which he has a residential qualification NOTEA. - Any ex-professional from outside the Lancashire League desirous of qualifying as an amateur in the League shall have his case adjudicated upon by the League Committee but shall not receive more favourable treatment than is indicated in the intentions of the Rule. NOTE B. - This Rule shall not apply to a professional 35 years old or over.
