102 J W Lees Lancashire Cricket League LEAGUE PROFESSIONALS 2019 ACCRINGTON - Karl Brown Accrington are pleased to have signed former Lancashire batsman Karl Brown as Professional for the 2019 season. Bolton born Karl brings a wealth of experience with him having played over 250 games for the County, scoring over 8,000 runs in all formats during his 13 year career with the Red Rose. He averages just under 38.00 in List A games with a top score of 129 against Yorkshire. Karl was a member of the Championship winning Lancashire team in 2011 and was also in the side that won the T20 Blast Final against Northants in 2015. Everyone at the club is looking forward to welcoming Karl to Thorneyholme Road and we wish him well for his first full season in the Lancashire League. BACUP - Sachithra Serasinghe (Sri Lanka) Bacup have signed 32 year old Sri Lankan all rounder Sachithra Serasinghe for the 2019 season. He will be Bacup’s third Sri Lankan professional following on from Ashanta De Mel and Udara Peiris. Sachithra, a right handed batsman and off spin bowler has 13 years of first class experience for a variety of clubs and has played Under 19 Test Cricket and for Sri Lanka A. He arrives in The Lancashire League after a very successful domestic season for the Tamil Union Club. In 10 matches in The Sri Lankan Premier League he scored 1001 runs at an average of 83 and was named Player of the Tournament. He has now amassed 8282 runs at 46.79 including 24 centuries and 2 double centuries and has 258 wickets at 29.29. Sachithra also has experience in league cricket having played for Normanby Hall in the North Yorkshire and South Durham, Littleborough in the Pennine League and Bradshaw in the Bolton League. In 2017 whilst acting as sub professional for Accrington he scored 171 not out against Colne. The club eagerly await his arrival. BURNLEY - Shadley van Shalkwyk (South Africa) Shadley is a quality, experienced fast bowling all-rounder who is currently contracted to the Knights franchise in Bloemfontein, South Africa. He has had an excellent career to date having played 89 first class matches and over 100 List AGames, in addition to 84 T20 fixtures. Shadley also has experience of the Lancashire League having played for Colne in 2012 and 2013. CHURCH - Dayyaan Galiem (South Africa) Church have signed Dayyaan Galiem as professional for the 2019 season. Dayyaan is from Cape Town, South Africa and is a top order batsman and pace bowler.
