LITTLEBOROUGH - Travis Townsend (South Africa) Littleborough welcome Travis Townsend as professional for 2019. He is the 5th South African to don the Dark Blue & Gold following Yacoob Omar (1972), Marinus Van Wyk (1974), Daryn Smith (2009) & Thomas Kaber (2018). Travis was professional at Heywood in spells between 2012-13 whilst in the CLL and also 2016-18 in the GMCL. In addition he has been professional at Walkden & Greenmount, in his career he has scored more than 8,000 runs and taken in excess of 250 wickets. The Right Hand Bat & Bowler from Cape Town will also captain the 1st XI for the 2019 season. LOWERHOUSE - Ockert Erasmus (South Africa) The Lowerhouse professional for 2019 is South African, Ockert Erasmus. Ockert who is a genuine all rounder batting right handed and bowling off spin will spend a third season at Lowerhouse after a very successful debut campaign in 2017, before injury curtailed his 2018 season. Before injury struck in 2018 Ockert scored had an impressive 515 runs at 73.5 with 5 half centuries and 1 century in just 10 innings. With the ball he had captured 20 wickets at 12.9. Ever consistent during his time in the league, with the bat Ockert has now amassed 6135 Lancashire League runs at 46’s with a best of 112* whilst his economical off spin has captured 407 wickets at 16.9 with a best of 8-21. MIDDLETON - Chris Williams Middleton have re-signed English all -rounder Chris Williams as professional for the 2019 season. Chris had a reasonable season with us last year the club is happy to re- engage him for the coming season.. Chris was an excellent member of the side last season and gets on well with both players and members. MILNROW - Kaushalya Gajasinghe (Sri Lanka) Milnrow CC are delighted to have signed Kaushalya Gajasinghe for the 2019 season. Kaushalya is a 27 year old Sri Lankan all rounder, batting left hand, bowling right arm off break. We look forward to welcoming KG to the Club and wish him well for the 2019 season.
