111 J W Lees Lancashire Cricket League LEAGUE PROFESSIONALS 2020 ACCRINGTON - Bailey Aarons (SA) Bailey is a 22 year old bowling allrounder who plays his cricket for South West Districts in his native South Africa. This will be Bailey’s first year in England and has only played a hand full of first class games and is still establishing himself within the South West Districts Squad. Bailey will be looking impress and develop his game with us at Accrington. Aarons will be Accrington’s 9th South African Professional. BACUP - Sachithra Serasinghe (SL) After an impressive first season Sri Lankan batsman and off spinner Sachithra Serasinghe returns to Lanehead for a second season in the Lancashire League. Bacup moved quickly to secure the services of the popular 33 year old all rounder after a successful debut season in which he was third top run scorer with 798 runs @ 44.33 in addition to being joint highest wicket taker with 59 wickets @ 11.72. Sachithra’s form extended to T20 cricket, in which he took Bacup to the final, scoring 296 runs @74.00. After being voted Premier League player of the year in Sri Lankan domestic cricket in 2019 he has again made an impressive start to the 2020 season and he returns to Bacup hopeful of improving the team’s fortunes in the league. BURNLEY - Ockert Erasmus (SA) Ockert Erasmus is well known to the Lancashire League, having previously been professional at East Lancs, Accrington and Lowerhouse. Ocki is a proven quality all-round cricketer, his off-spin has taken close to 500 league wickets and his batting achieved just shy of 7000 league runs at an average of 45. Ocki hails from Cape Town, South Africa, but now lives permanently in the UK. All at Burnley CC are delighted that Ocki has signed for the club. CHURCH - Ashar Zaidi (P) Church look forward to welcomingAshar Zaidi as their Professional for the 2020 season. Ashar is a left-handed batsman and left arm orthodox spin bowler. He is well known in these parts having spent two years as Professional at Accrington during which time he helped the Club to win the League Championship and he broke the Club batting record. Born in Pakistan Ashar began his career playing for Islamabad Cricket Association in Pakistan and he also played 1st class cricket for Sussex and Essex from 2014-2018. In total Ashar has over 6,000 first class runs and 94 wickets and in 2015 he won Player of the Tournament in the Bangladesh Premier League. Ashar is currently a coach for Hong Kong.
