ENFIELD - Evan Jones (SA) Enfield CC are delighted to announce the signing of Evan Jones as Professional for season 2020. After bursting on to the scene in October 2019, a string of excellent knocks for Northerns have pushed the 23 year old firmly in to the spotlight. The big hitter from Pretoria is a RH bat who bowls Off-Breaks. Highly recommended by Enfield’s South African scouts, Evan is expected to be here for the start of the 2020 season. GREAT HARWOOD - Thikshila de Silva (SL) Thikshila de Silva returns as professional for 2020, his second season with Great Harwood. Last year he scored 622 runs and took 46 wickets. Thikshila, aged 26, is a strongly built batting all-rounder who also bowls genuine fast medium. Currently representing Chilaw Marians in Sri Lanka, he has 1706 first class runs and 46 wickets to his name, and has represented Sri Lanka in three T20 internationals. HASLINGDEN - Senuran Muthusamy (SA) Senuran Muthusamy (26) is an allrounder from Durban who bats left-handed and bowls left arm orthodox spin. He represents the Dolphins franchise and KwaZulu Natal in South Africa’s domestic cricket. Senuran has excellent statistics at First Class and List A level where he has so far scored almost 5000 runs and taken over 200 wickets. He has also played 2 test matches for South Africa in the recent series in India (2019) where his first test wicket was that of a certain Virat Kholi. The all-rounder has impressed at every level of cricket in South Africa and took the Player of the Year award for the Dolphins franchise in 2017/18. Senuran is the 5th South African to play for Haslingden following in the footsteps of Peter Swart (1974 to 1977), Stephen Jones (1980), Rob Bentley (1982) and more recently Burton de Wett in 2015. Everyone at HCC looks forward to welcoming Senuran in April and we wish him well for the 2020 campaign. LITTLEBOROUGH - Travis Townsend (South Africa) Littleborough are delighted to re-engage the services of Travis for the 2020 season. An excellent first season saw Travis lead our 1st XI with the bat, ball & as captain in the field setting a high bar for our young squad to aspire to. The experience of league cricket that Travis brings to our club is invaluable. Travis has proved a very popular member of our club and in the true tradition of Lancashire League professionals engages with players, spectators and our junior cricketers. Congratulations also go to Travis and his wife Grace on the birth of their first child Sebastian over the winter.
