158 played for England in a Test Match against the West Indies in 1950. Mark Harvey of Burnley made his debut for Lancashire 1st team during the 1994 season. S.F. Barnes was Rishton’s pro in 1895 and then Professional for Rawtenstall in 1933. Roger Harper (Guyana and West Indies) served as professional at Bacup for 8 consecutive years, 1989-96. During this time, he scored 8600 leagues runs at an average of 57.71, with a highest score of 162 not out; he bowled 3409.4 overs, taking 596 wickets, average 14.57, with a best performance of 9-22. He also took 182 catches. In the Worsley Cup, he scored 1120 runs at an average of 70, highest score 104 not out; he bowled 398.4 overs, taking 71 wickets, average 14.6, with a best performance of 6-54, and took 18 catches. James Anderson of Burnley was chosen to represent England Under 17s in 1999. James Anderson of Burnley made his one day debut for Lancashire CCC in the final AXAgame of the season at Derby in 2001 and played in the three under 19s test matches for England v West Indies under 19s in 2001. Jonathon Clare of Burnley in his first season for Derbyshire CCC scored a century and took 5 wickets against Northamptonshire. David Ormerod of Accrington was named Wisden Club Cricketer of the Year in 2008. LIFE MEMBERSHIP At the Annual Meeting of the League on the 22nd February, 1950, Mr Henry Foster was made a Life Member and presented with a Silver Cigarette Case and Electric Clock, suitably inscribed, in recognition of his 35 years service to the League, the past 22 years as Honorary Treasurer. At theAnnual Meeting of the League on the 23rd February, 1955, Mr. Harold Longworth was made a Life Member in recognition of his 32 years’ service to the League, the last eight years as President. At the League Meeting on the 26th June, 1957, Mr. Harold Sutcliffe was made a Life Member in recognition of his 30 years’ service to the League, the last four years as President. At the Annual Meeting of the League on the 22nd February, 1961, Mr. Jack Isherwood was made a Life Member in recognition of his 26 years’ service to the League, the past 11 years as Honorary Secretary. At the Annual Meeting of the League on the 24th February, 1965, Mr. John Powis was made a Life Member in recognition of his 23 years’ service to the League, the past ten years as Honorary Treasurer. At the League Meeting on the 25th September, 1974, Mr. C.R. Davies, T.D., J.P., was made a Life Member in recognition of his service to the League. At the Annual Meeting of the League on the 27th February, 1980, Mr. T. Alston J.P. was made a Life Member in recognition of his services to the League.
