LCL Handbook 2024 41 but may make application to the League Committee for transfer to another Club for which they have an amateur qualification. 6. PROFESSIONAL BECOMING AMATEUR 6.1. Should any professional cricketer retire from professional cricket during or at the end of a season they shall only be eligible to play as an amateur in the Lancashire League in the following season if they satisfy one of the following conditions: 1. They are a former amateur registered with the League and returning to the League as an amateur in accordance with Rule C.6 above, or: 2. They are over 35 years of age and possessed of a birth, residential or business qualification as required by Rule D.1.1. 6.2 If the former professional does not satisfy 1 of the conditions above they will be eligible to play as an amateur in the league after one season has elapsed provided they are possessed of a birth, residential or business qualification as required by rule D1.1 7. AMATEUR REQUIRING TRANSFER 7.1. An Amateur may not be registered for more than one Club in the League at one time. An Amateur may transfer from one League Club to another League Club at any time outside of the season. They may also transfer from one League Club to another League Club during the season at any time provided they have not played for their previous club in a League or Cup game organised by the League, LCF, or ECB during the season in which they wish to transfer. They must apply in writing to the League Secretary, stating the Clubs concerned. The League Secretary will then ascertain if their former Club objects, and if it consents the transfer shall be granted by them to become operative forthwith, but should it object, the ground of objectionmust be stated forthwith, and the Executive Committee shall have power to deal with the matter at once, or to leave it to the next League Meeting, when the applicant must attend if notified to do so. Any player who would otherwise not be permitted to transfer to a League Club or register for a League Club under this rule or any other League rule, may apply in writing to the League Committee for permission to transfer or register. The League Committee may then in their absolute discretion grant or refuse permission for the player to transfer or register, which may include granting permission to transfer or register but restricting the competitions in which the player may play. Players so transferred under this Rule cannot apply for a further transfer until a period of 2 years has elapsed since the date of approval of their previous transfer. Any player may appeal to a meeting of the League Committee to waive or amend that period. The 2 year requirement shall be overridden if, the player in question is returning to the club which is considered to be their home club and
