LCL Handbook 2025 21 In the Junior Cup, the hosts for the final were Gt Harwood who had earned their place in the final with a 17 run win against Burnley. Their opponents, Littleborough had a slightly easier passage, bowling Enfield out for 67 and winning by 6 wickets. In reply Great Harwood lost an early wicket but then a century partnership between opener Kasim Masood and skipper Miles Corish steadied the boat and then a further partnership of 82 between the skipper (who was not out on 76 at the end) and Siraj Ahmed took them home by 7 wickets with nearly 5 overs to spare. Next, we move to the T20 competition, again we had four divisions of 6 on a geographical basis. Clitheroe, Burnley, Littleborough and Ramsbottom won their respective divisions and they were joined in the quarter finals by Lowerhouse, Great Harwood, Rochdale and Crompton. The quarter finals were then won by Crompton who won at Burnley, Clitheroe who won at home to Rochdale, Lowerhouse who won at Littleborough and Ramsbottom who beat Great Harwood with JJ Fielding making a competition record score of 152. Finals day was at scheduled for Clitheroe on August Bank HolidayMonday. Unfortunately, the weather prevented play and the day was rescheduled to the following Saturday. Crompton had a sensational win in the first semifinal. Dan Salpietro’s 71 had helped Lowerhouse post 151. Mohammad Jamal made an unbeaten 99 but the main drama was 26 runs coming from the final over with 2 fours and 3 sixes. The second semifinal was Clitheroe v Ramsbottom and Burnley posted a similar score to the first innings of the first semifinal with 150 led by 52 from Brad Fielding. Again, it was a close finish as Clitheroe got home with a ball to spare led by sub pro Jack Taylor making 52. In the final, Clitheroe won the toss and opted to bat first and a total of 149 was posted with Ali Ross (64) and skipper Peter Dibb (53) top scoring. Denis Louis then led the chase with 58 but again the match was taken to the line as Crompton still needed 24 from the last 2 overs before Harry Dean turned the match upside down with 19 from the penultimate over to leave the visitors needing just 5 from the final over and they got home with just one ball to spare.
