LCL Handbook 2025 41 professional may be engaged as a substitute professional in the prescribed circumstances, for a club in the other division. Subject to rule C2.5. 2.7. Any member club playing a Lancashire Cricket League or Worsley Cup fixture without a bona-fide professional will be fined (Category 3, as per table 10.1) (The average sum expected to be saved by not playing a substitute professional). This fine will not be open to appeal and is mandatory. 2.8. It shall be the responsibility of member clubs to ensure their professional, when acting as a substitute professional in other leagues, is fully and legally compliant with their Visa of entry into the country, their contractual obligations to the club and with both the Lancashire Cricket League rules and regulations and the rules and regulations of the league in which their professional proposes to play in. 2.9. Any club who does not conduct due diligence and allows their professional to play in a league in breach of VISA requirements or Lancashire Cricket League rules will be fined (Category 3, as per table 10.1). (Equivalent of what a professional would command acting as a substitute professional). 2.10.Clubs are to keep a record of all matches where their Professional is engaged as a substitute, including the fee received. The record of matches played should be reported to Honorary Secretary on Official Club letterhead or Email within 10 days of the conclusion of the season. Failure to report will result in a fine (Category 3, as per table 10.1) and provision of misinformation will result in a fine (Category 3, as per table 10.1). 3. RE-ENGAGEMENT AND APPROACHING OF PROFESSIONALS 3.1. No League Club Professional shall be engaged (or be approached with a view to engagement) by another League Club for the following season until after the League meeting in July each year, on and after which date any Club may approach and engage any professional subject to the following conditions: (a) At the said League meeting in July each club must inform the League Committee of its intentions with regard to its current Professional confirming in particular: Whether or not it wishes to retain the services of its current Professional and, if so, whether or not a written offer of re-engagement has been made to that Professional and, if so,
