LCL Handbook 2025 85 JW LEES WORSLEY CUP COMPETITION LANCASHIRE CRICKET LEAGUE COMPETITION RULES 1. All Clubs in the League shall participate in this Knock Out Competition. All matches to be played as per Senior League rules except as amended below. The draw for each round shall be made by the League Executive Committee. 2. The management of the Competition shall be in the hands of the League Executive Committee, who will make the draw for each round and who are given full powers, including the appointment of a referee or referees to attend each match, as specified in Clause 2 of League Rule F2 and whose decision on any disputed point must be accepted as final by the Clubs concerned. 3. No player, amateur or professional shall play in the competition for more than one club in any one season. The qualifications of players and the general conditions shall be those specified in the League Rules, with the exceptions mentioned herein or such as may be directed by the Committee. 4. Matches will normally be commenced on Saturdays or Sundays at 12:30 p.m. on dates to be decided by the League Executive Committee. Where a game is affected by the weather the match will revert to the league rules in all aspects of match rules governing rain affected fixtures, except for the Final. If any game commences but no result is achieved, then regardless of the stage of the game, the fixture will move to the scheduled replay date and commence from scratch. Intervals between innings shall not exceed 25 minutes. Each innings shall consist of a maximum of 50 six ball overs and in the event of a team not having lost all 10 wickets at the conclusion of 50 overs the innings shall be deemed to be closed. All sides are expected to be in position to bowl the first ball of the last of their 50 overs within 3 hours 15 minutes playing time. In the event of them failing to do so, one fewer fielder shall be permitted outside the fielding restriction area in 6.2 than would normally be the case in the Powerplay in progress at the time. All penalties in this regard will be imposed immediately the ball first becomes dead after the scheduled or re-scheduled cessation time for the innings. The full quota of overs will be completed.
