In an innings of 50 overs, these are overs 11 to 40 inclusive. (c) Powerplay 3 – no more than five fielders shall be permitted outside this fielding restriction area. If play is interrupted not during the Powerplay overs, then on resumption, it is necessary to determine how any remaining Powerplay overs should be allocated. The total number of Powerplay overs for the innings is derived from the table above. For the remaining overs a minimum of 4 fielders (plus the bowler and wicket-keeper) must be within the field restriction marking at the instant of delivery. (c) In addition to the 1 run penalty for a “No-Ball”, the delivery following any form of No-ball shall be a FREE HIT for the batsman entitled to receive it (If the delivery for the free hit is not itself legitimate for any reason, then the next delivery shall also be deemed a free hit.)
