Lancashire League Handbook 2026
LCL Handbook 2026 25 11 in T20 and 7 league catches the Milton Lord Trophy would go to Thomas Walker of Lowerhouse who incidentally made his debut in the Lancashire 2nd eleven towards the end of the season. The Bill Harrison Trophy which is awarded to the player with the best individual performance in a match went to JJ Fielding of Ramsbottom for his 125 from 107 balls at Ramsbottom against Middleton in an unbroken opening partnership of 218 on 22nd June with 15 fours and 3 sixes. The umpire awards, The Peter Hargreaves trophy awarded to the Umpire with the best overall marks in the Junior Leagues. The winner for 2025 is someone familiar to everyone within the League, a man who has been a stalwart of League Officiating for many years and fully deserved the award, Nigel Tench. The Senior Umpire of the year award though isn’t all about Premier League and the marks are consolidated with the Division Two Marks to give overall scores. Umpires have to officiate in 10 1st XI games to qualify. The Wally Ashley runners up trophy had a new name on it this year, his availability to officiate is limited as he still plays on Saturdays but he got the required number of games in and hopefully when he eventually retires from playing we will have another top official within the League, the winner was Sagar Trivedi. The Harry Saul Trophy, for the second year in a row the marks were again so close that the trophy was shared between Duncan Warburton and Ken Fergusson. The Joe Collier award, which is made to the team who are given the best marks by umpires for sportsmanship in both First and a Second Eleven games, was taken by Great Harwood Cricket Club. The Alick Ormerod Trophy, which goes to the captain who receives the best marks in Senior Division Cricket. In third place was Michael Bradley of Nelson, second was Stuart Maher of Great Harwood and the winner this year was Charlie Dewhurst of Clitheroe. I end my report with a tribute to a man who joined the Executive as our Play cricket administrator, a role he undertook with patience and due diligence. And then stepped into the Honorary Treasurer and Deputy Chair roles. Steve Hunsley made a massive positive impact on the Executive and will be sadly missed by all involved with the League, thank you Steve you really made a difference.
