Lancashire League Minute Book 1890-1897 (with side-by-side transcriptions by Anne Cochrane)

Resolved unanimously that all League Clubs play 2 professionals in League matches during season 1897. Resolved that the Representatives from Church Nelson Ramsbottom Todmorden along with the Secretary form a Sub-Committee to make new Rules & submit the same to a full meeting of the League & that in the meantime old Rules be still in force. Resolved that Lowerhouse be allowed to engage George Porter as one of their professionals for 1897 Colne having consented. Moved by Mr. Moor seconded by Mr. Ashworth that this Meeting do stand adjourned to a day to be appointed by the Secretary.
