It was an instruction for all League Secs. to reply to all postcards from League Sec. re Umpires and their appointments. Mr. Hamer reported League cup had been purchased for £30 and that Treasurer be asked to secure a wooden case for same. (Benefit matches for League to be arranged) Resolved that two matches be arranged between pros and amateurs of League clubs. Railway fares to be paid by Clubs and printing by League. Resolved that the following act as sub. com. to arrange matches :East Lancashire, Burnley, Accrington, Nelson, Bacup. The following was then discussed and carried to be considered not in force until 1893 (Re qualification pros for season 1893) Resolved that no professional other than those allowed by Rule 17 shall be eligible to play in any League match unless such player has a 12 months residential or local birth qualification and any club infringing this rule the penalty be 2 points deducted and fined £2.
