32 1. NOMENCLATURE The League shall be known as the “[sponsors name] ALLIANCE MIDWEEK CRICKET LEAGUE”. Where no sponsor exists, the League shall be known as the “Sheffield Alliance Midweek Cricket League”. 2. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES The aims and objec7ves of the league shall be: • To offer compe77ve opportuni7es in the name of cricket • To promote the League within the local community in the name of cricket • To ensure a duty of care to all members of the League • To provide all of its services in a way that is fair to everyone • To ensure that all present and future members receive fair and equal treatment 3. SUBSCRIPTIONS An Annual Subscrip7on shall be paid by the last Wednesday in April (ie the Handbook Distribu7on Mee7ng) before the commencement of the season. The subscrip7on shall include entry into the League and appropriate Cup compe77on and two 7ckets to the Annual Social Func7on (as per rule 31). Clubs not financial shall be fined. Any club which has not paid by the commencement date of the season shall not be allowed to play any matches and shall be deemed to have not complied with rule 12. Any club not financial with the League by 30th November of the current year shall be dealt with by the Management Commi8ee. 4. APPLICATIONS TO JOIN, WITHDRAWALS Any club desirous of joining the League must be a member of an appropriate County Board and must make an applica7on to the League Secretary by the 30th November of the current year. Any club which withdraws from the League a'er this date shall be fined. 5. OFFICERS, MANAGEMENT AND MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE i The League shall be governed by a Commi8ee known as the Management Commi8ee made up of elected Officials and a maximum of 8 elected members. ii The Officials of the League shall be President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Officer, Umpires’ Appointments Secretary and Child Welfare Officer. iii The Officials and members shall re7re annually at the Annual General Mee7ng but will be eligible for re-elec7on iv Each of the Officials may be paid a honorarium which shall be decided by the member clubs at the Annual General Mee7ng v Elec7ons will take place at the Annual General Mee7ng. An official or elected member may be proposed by the exis7ng Management Commi8ee or by a member club. Such nomina7ons shall be in the hands of the Secretary 21 days before the Annual General Mee7ng vi If for any reason an elected representa7ve is unable to fulfil his/her commitment to the Management Commi8ee, they shall have the power to co-opt a replacement, un7l the next AGM, at which 7me and elec7on will take place. vii Five members, including Chairman or Secretary, shall cons7tute a quorum. viiiThe Management Commi8ee (or a sub-commi8ee of members where appropriate)shall meet when necessary and deal with all ma8ers concerning the League in accordance with these rules, precedent and policies confirmed or amended by member clubs at an AGM or EGM. ix The ruling of the Management Commi8ee shall be final with regard to ma8ers arising from all compe77ons.
