They won 10 games and lost just two, finishing a substantial 9 points clear of second placed Lodgers. Lodgers themselves finished three points clear of Hollinsend A as the top two completely dominated the division. Ridgeway’s Richard Crabtree was leading run getter, with 385 at nearly 43, with division’s highest innings – 95 against Lodgers. Dave Mason of Lodgers was the only bowler to take 20 wickets, obtaining exactly that number at precisely 15 each. Hollinsend’s Jordan Commander had the best figures, with an impressive 7-14 in less than 3 overs against Aviva. Sheffield Transport might have finished bottom of the entire League, but they will take considerable pride in the performances of their youthful side. C ricket needs young players and those willing to nurture them. Long may this continue at Meadowhead.
