56 CUP RULES 1. The Competition shall be known as the “[sponsors name] Alliance MidWeek Cricket League Knock- Out Cup Competition” (hereafter referred to as the Competition). Where no sponsor exists, the competition shall be known as the “Sheffield Alliance Midweek Cricket League Knock-Out Cup Competition”. 2. The Competition shall be open to all member clubs of the Sheffield Alliance Midweek Cricket League. 3. Each club shall pay an entry fee(1) to enter the competition which shall be payable in addition to the League Annual Subscription in accordance with League Rule 2. 4. Any club desirous of joining the competition must do so prior to the draw. 5. The draw will be made at the Annual General Meeting under guidelines set by the Management Committee. 6. All rounds prior to the Semi-Final shall be played on a date set by the Management Committee. The Semi-Final and Final shall be played on a “Finals Day”. 7. Registration of Players a. Each club can register up to 16 players to play in the Competition. b. All players must be registered before by midnight on the day before the first round ties take place using the Play-Cricket system as per League Rules. Any player registered after this time shall be deemed ineligible. c. All registered players must not play for any other club in the League in the current season (including those clubs who have chosen not to play in the Cup). If a player is transferred under League Rule 10 then they may play only for the club to which they have been transferred to and the must be registered in accordance with Cup Rule 7(b). d. A player can only be in one squad per season. e. A player must have played at least one league game for their club before the first round of the competition to be eligible to play in any game. f. Any player found to be ineligible will be banned from playing the competition for 3 years. g. Any club found to have been playing an illegible player will be banned from the competition for 3 years and will also have 3 league points deducted. 8. Playing Conditions All games shall be played in accordance with League rules with the following exceptions: a. All games will be 14 x 8 overs and unless mutually agreed otherwise, games shall commence at 6.15 pm. b. A toss shall take place before the game to determine which team bats first with the captain of the team winning the toss deciding whether to bat first or second. c. The sequence for the winner of the game shall be: i. The team who scores the highest runs on completions of overs ii. The team who has lost the fewest wickets iii. The team with the highest score after 5 overs iv. The who has lost the fewest wickets after 5 overs v. The winner of a bowl out d. If a game is started but not finished due to inclement weather, then the sequence to decide the
