16 4. Where a team offers to provide TWO non-playing umpires, the agreement of the opposing captain is required. 5. When umpiring duties are undertaken by participating players, their alternating between the bowler’s end and the striker’s end shall be at the discretion of the batting team’s captain. 6. Where the two captains have agreed an umpiring format for a match, it shall pertain for thewholeof thematchunless exceptional circumstances create the need for unavoidable change. WICKET COVERS - Clubs with wicket covers will be allowed to use them in the event of bad weather intervening during the course of play. DATE OF MATCHES - All Union Premier Division matches shall take place on the dates set by the Management Committee unless with the prior consent of the Management Committee. ARTIFICIAL WICKETS - Where a match is to be played on an artificial wicket, all players shall wear non-spiked footwear. OVER RATES - The Union Management Committee requests that all clubs attempt to maintain an over rate of 18 overs per hour.
