The Secretary reported at the AGM at Jarman’s Hotel in Forfar that “the playing system had been exceptionally trouble free” and yet Cliftonbank in the Second Division seem to have ruffled a few feathers, not least in the Management Committee. A motion however to terminate their membership was defeated by a “substantial majority” after a “heated discussion”. On a more positive note, Lawside FPs were admitted to the Second Division. The Scottish Cup, however, continued to provide little comfort to Strathmore Union clubs. Strathmore had beaten Meigle in the first round but had then been defeated by the Glasgow side, Poloc. The Union select had defeated their North of Scotland counterparts, and the Union was “well represented” at Under 19 and Under 16 level.
