There had been a scandal earlier on in the season with Aberdeen Grammar School FP. There had been frequent complaints in the past about the standard of their Rubislaw pitch but this one involved themnot paying their fees! That seems to have been resolved, and the main focus was on “shamateurism” and professional cricketers playing even in the 2nd Division, but there was the customary resistance to change, although there was some agreement on the registration of players. There was an agreement to restrict the playing of 1st XI League games to a Saturday to allowmore scope of Cup and representative cricket. Long standing Committee Member Gavin McKiddie stood down from the Committee and tribute was paid to his lengthy service.
