Strathmore Cricket Union: the first 90 years a history 1928-2018

177 to dominate the Under 15 trophy beating Forfarshire, Strathmore and Rossie Priory while at Under 13 level the Lichties beat the Smokies. Before we leave 2010, it would be remiss of me not to remind Dundee United supporters that they won the Scottish Cup that year (at last!), but returning to the cricket, there was an odd couple of things happened in the Batting Aggregates. If we ignore the professionals, the record of 808 runs for the Premier or top Division was set by Stuart McGregor of Perthshire XI in 1968. Peter J Drummond of Meigle equalled it this year, and in the new Second Division, Graham Ferguson equalled the amateur record of 717 set by Colin Nicoll of Meigle in 2003. Winter 2010/11 was particularly bad. December 2010 was very cold with lots of snow and ice, and although things turned a little better after the New Year, it was still one of the coldest winters that anyone could recall. But the snow and ice melted eventually and in 2011 Stoneywood-Dyce won the Premier League beating Dundee High School into second place, while the other divisions were won by Forthill XI, Arbroath XI and St Andrews University Staff. Huntly also had a good season winning the Three Counties Dalnacraig - Winners of the Two Counties Cup 2010 L-R:- Fesil Saeed, Richard Miller (Sponsor), Abdul Rahman Saeed, Duncan Lindsay, Michael Ancell, Graham McLaren, Adnan Nadir, Adrian Parker, Bobby Hopkins (Capt), Daniel Hunter, Shogun Johnny, Graham Hopkins
