Strathmore Cricket Union: the first 90 years a history 1928-2018

180 2013 saw Mannofield, Forthill XI, Arbroath United XI and St Andrews University Staff win the four Divisions, but it was also the last year before the nomenclature was changed to reflect a re-organisation. From now on, the Premier League would become the North Eastern Championship and the winners would play the winners of the ESCA Championship for a possible place in the Eastern Premier League. It was also decided to subdivide the Second Division into a South section and a North section, something that made a great deal of sense given the travelling problems involved in transporting youngsters (who were too young to own and drive cars) long distances. Meigle after several years without having done so, won the North-Eastern Championship as it was now called in 2014 (they had last won in 2001 when circumstances were totally different and it was called the First Division!).
