The terms were the same as those of Mr Beaujangles at £400 per annum but the arrangement was not renewed after the first year. Sponsored:- Cup Competitions 1982 SONDICO SPORTS Following the withdrawal of the Grasshopper sponsorship, three firms tendered for the supply of balls to the Union for 1983 under a similar arrangement as the previous one. Sondico, another sports goods manufacturer won the tender. Although the sponsorship was not renewed by the company after the initial season, the Union continued to specify the Sondico ball, unsponsored and sourced from a retailer for the next few seasons. Sponsored:- League Competitions 1983 J & E SHEPHERD https://www.shepherd.co.uk/ After five seasons without a sponsor, Tom McLeod once again came up trumps by negotiating with this firm of Chartered Surveyors to support the two Cup competitions for the 1988 season. For the next eight seasons, the Dundee office of this Scotland-wide Property Service and Factoring company gave their name to the competitions which were known as the J & E Shepherd Cup (Three Counties) and the J & E Shepherd Trophy (2 Counties). The sponsorship allowed cash prizes to be awarded to each team which reached the semi-finals of both competitions and partners of the firm, most notably John Bennett (not related to the Dundee High School FP captain of the same name) attended the finals of the competitions and presented the trophy to the winning sides.
